WELCOME TO THE URBAN THEATER on MyMadison TV!

LOAD-IN DAY SCHEDULE (Wednesdays):
  • Load-in starts at 5pm

  • Sound check can begin after 6:30pm. When you arrive, go to the front door and ask for Jill Sommers. She will direct you to the south side of the building where there is a door marked "STAGE DOOR" for unloading. (PLEASE do not park in front of the garage doors with the No Parking signs that are located east of the stage door.)

  • TAPING DAY SCHEDULE (Thursdays):
  • Band arrival time: 5:15pm

  • Sound check #1: 5:40pm-5:53pm

  • Sound check #2: 6:30-6:40pm

  • Live-to-tape performance: 6:40pm-7:20pm

  • PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 short music sets for a total time of about 17 to 19 minutes. Generally, that’s about four songs total. You’ll perform three music segments - two songs in the first segment followed by one song in each of the other two segments, followed by an interview with our host, John Urban.

  • Song titles

  • Correct set list

  • Song lengths

  • Composer & publisher if applicable

  • TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Engineer. (Someone who is NOT performing to run the audio gear.)

  • Sound gear, including: Snake (with enough audio channels accommodate all microphones, direct-input sources & monitor sends), Microphones, Direct-Input Boxes, Cables, Mic stands and Rack-mount effects.

  • We have eight channels of QSC monitor amps and eight Yamaha monitor speakers & speakon cables which you are welcome to use. If your audio person wants to use his/her monitors, that’s fine too. We will need a two channel (left & right) full mix (all instruments & vocals), preferably line-level, balanced XLR connectors. Front of house power amp/enclosures are NOT needed, as we will take a stereo feed from the your mixing console into our audio board.

  • If you need an engineer with gear, try contacting these friends of the Urban Theater:
